Pumpkin Hazelnut Smoothie

Fall in love with this no fruit, Pumpkin Hazelnut Smoothie

Who doesn't love a good smoothie? They’re an amazing way to pack a bunch of good-for-you produce into your breakfast or snack-time. The problem, however, is after you throw in a banana, some mango and a few berries, your healthy smoothie quickly also becomes packed with sugar. While fruit still has many incredible nutritional benefits, it still has a fair amount of sugar.

Sugar is made up of the same two components: fructose and glucose. The molecular structure and composition of sugar molecules is the same whether in the form of fruit or table sugar. Don't get me wrong, that doesn't make them interchangeable! Again, as I mentioned, fruit has the added benefit including minerals, fiber antioxidants, and water too. It's also nice to know that ounce for ounce, fruit contains very little sugar compared to, well, table sugar.

So you don't need to avoid fruit (most of us don't eat enough anyway), but if you’re someone that's doing a serious sugar detox or is just looking to reduce your sugar intake before the holiday season, here's a no-fruit added, Pumpkin Hazelnut Smoothie to ensure a healthy holiday.

This Pumpkin Hazelnut Smoothie is also packed with antioxidants and minerals and perfect for Fall.
